Nine Coaches Waiting by Mary Stewart has been on my radar for quite awhile. Linda Martin lied to her new boss on her job interview. I am in a reading fluff mood because I am finally free from school and tests. I've also heard good things about Nine Coaches Waiting and That Rough Magic. Another author to write, and excel, in the Gothic g. I love suspenseful Gothic romances and Mary Stewart's Nine Coaches Waiting fits that bill! We first discussed the genre known as Gothic when I reviewed "Spindrift" by Phyllis A. My favourite so far is Nine Coaches Waiting, which reminded me of Daphne du Maurier, but as you've said you don't like suspense or gothic romance I probably wouldn't recommend that one to you!
